Anne M. Lux, 90, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. died Sunday, June 12, 2016, at
Mark Twain Caring Center. She was a long time resident of Poplar Bluff.
She was born in Dyer County, Tenn. May 3, 1926 to the late Bud Wheeler
and Lula Bishop Wheeler. She was a member of the First Christian
Anne was married to Arvil Lux. He preceded her in death March 21, 1991.
Before retiring, she was a telephone operator for AT&T. She enjoyed
gardening, music and dancing.
Surviving are one son, James M. Lux (Suzy): and three daughters, Sherry
Bullington (Dale), Carol Pinkston (Stanley), and Ginger Vincent (William
Guy), all of Poplar Bluff; three sisters, Dorothy Brown of Millington,
Tenn., Joyce Simmons, of Blythville, Ark., and Betty Fox of
Caurthersville, Mo.; six grandchildren, Kenny Bullington, Christopher
Bullington, Stacie Pinkston, Christopher Lux, Zachary Vincent, and
Trenten Vincent; and nine great grandchildren, Mariah Bullington, Evan
Bullington, Madison Smith, Ethan Smith, Audrey Smith, Alisah Dicken,
Dyllon Lux, Hanna Bone, and Connor Bone.
A visitation will be at 10 AM Thursday, at First Christian Church. The
funeral will follow at 11 AM also at the church. The Rev. Frank Chlastek
Dana "Mac" F. Magruder, 65, died Friday June 17, 2016, at John J.
Pershing Veteran's Hospital. He was born Dec. 30, 1950 in Poplar Bluff,
Mo. to Juanita Cooley and the late Don F. Magruder. Dana was a long
time resident of Poplar Bluff and Neelyville, Mo. He was a member of the
First Baptist Church.
Dana married Kimberly Gould 9-13,1992, She survives.
He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Viet Nam
War. He loved to travel, was a Shriner and Mason, an avid fan of Cardinal
baseball, and a member of the Three Rivers Raider's Booster Club. He
traveled to many Raiders games.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by his step-mother, Edna
Magruder: one son, Ryan L. Magruder of South Carolina (mother-Kathy
Wilson Morrison; two step-sons, Leslie A. Tyler of Mammoth Springs,
Ar., and Daniel W. Tyler of Corning, Ar.; three daughters, Julie Evans
(Scott) of Poplar Bluff, (mother- Kathy Wilson Morrison),Dara Seabaugh
, Jenna Moore (Jared) both Poplar Bluff (mother-Trish King); one brother,
David Magruder of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Cynthia Dollins (Jimmy),
and Linda Magruder both of Poplar Bluff; and 12 grandchildren, Kadyn,
Talon, and Kaylor Moore, Katie and Nick Joachim, Jaron Evans, Zoey
Sprouse, Maggie and Rece Magruder, Madison and Braden Tyler, and
There will be a memorial service Wednesday at 9:00 A.M. at the Mo. State
Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo. Dr. William Vail will officiate. In
lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital,

Sandra Lea “Sandy” Cates was born on August 4th, 1962.
She passed away on Wednesday, June 22nd at Poplar Bluff Regional
Medical Center. She was fifty-three years old at the time of her death. She
was preceded in death by her mother Doris and her father William Cates
of Ohio. She is survived by her roommates and a host of friends.
Sandy was a very loving person who enjoyed practical jokes and loved to
laugh. Her family and friends will always remember her as a strong,
independent, affectionate, honest woman. She enjoyed physical activity
and always strove to be the best at anything she did. Sandy always
enjoyed being the life of the party. Sandy was always ready with open
arms and a welcoming smile for those she loved. She will be deeply
missed by those who loved and cared for her.
Her memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 28th at 10 am at Fitch-
Hillis Funeral Home Chapel. Fitch Hillis funeral home will be in charge of
the arrangements. Interment will be at Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
Lottie L. Morehead, 82, died Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Oakdale Care
Center. She was born Oct. 24, 1933 at Rombauer, Mo., to the late James
Alford and Pansy Braden Alford. She was a long time resident of Poplar
She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Eagles at Wappapello
and the American Legion in Poplar Bluff.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen Wrinkle of Dexter, Mo. and
Sharon Gholson of Poplar Bluff; one brother, Vernon Alford of Kentucky;
one sister, Opal Keen of Flint, Mich.; four grandchildren and two

Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 A.M. at City Cemetery.
