Bertha E. Bennett, 75, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. died Monday June 17, 2013.  
She was born August 30, 1937  in Poplar Bluff, Mo, and was a lifetime
resident.  She was a member of the Westwood Baptist Church.
Bertha retired from  Lucy Lee Hospital business office.  She enjoyed
reading and being with family and her church.
She married Gordon Bennett August 29, 1954 in Poplar Bluff, Mo. He
preceded her in death.
She is survived by one son, James G. Bennett and wife Rhonda of Port
Orchard, Washington; two daughters, Pamela Barnes and husband
Curtis,Kimberly Te and husband, Ben all of Poplar Bluff; two sisters,
Betty F. Williams of Brookfield, Mo. and Ruth Gray of Russellville, Ark.;
five grandchildren, Shane Barnes and wife Shannon of Poplar Bluff, Mo.,
Christy Paddock and husband Tim of La., Jordon Bennett and Jennifer
Bennett, both of Washington state., and Megan Te of Poplar Bluff, Mo.;
four great-grandchildren, Zoe and Natalie Barnes of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and
Lorelei and Jessica Paddock, of Louisiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Viron Hardin and Addie P.
Capper Hardin and an infant sister, Virginia Hardin.

Visitation will be at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday 10 to 11
a.m. June 20, 2013 followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m.  The Rev.
Steve Proctor will officiate.  Burial will be at Ashcraft Cemetery.  
Bertha  E. Bennett
Arvie E. Smith, 78, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Sunday June 16, 2013.  
He was born July 28, 1934.  He was a long time resident of Poplar
Bluff, Mo.
Arvie was a member of the Second Baptist Church.  He enjoyed
hunting.  Before retiring, Mr. Smith had worked as a carpenter for
Greer Construction.
He served in the Marine Corp during the Korean War.
Arvie married Shirley Ann Rayfield November 15, 1954 in Poplar
Bluff, Mo.  She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Gary Dale Smith of Lexington, Tn. and
Michael Ernest Smith of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; two sisters, Helen Dickens
of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and Carolyn McFadden of Clarkton, Mo.; five
grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Arvie was preceded in death by his parents, John L. Smith and Anna
Belle Abrahms Smith; one daughter, Tammy Marie Smith; two
brothers, Donald Smith and Lee Smith
Visitation will be Wednesday June 19, 2013 at 10 to 11 a.m. at
Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home Chapel, followed by the funeral service at
11 a.m. The Rev. Gary Smith will officiate.  Burial will be at
Woodlawn Cemetery.  
Arvie  Smith
Doyle Ray Sneed, 56, died June 10, 2013 in Poplar Bluff, Mo.  He
was born November 25, 1956 in Muncie, Ind.  He was a member
of the Green Forrest Church of Christ.

Mr. Sneed loved music  and was a D.J. at KLID radio station for
several years.

Mr. Sneed is survived by one son, Charles Ray Sneed of Missouri,
and one brother Jim Sneed of Nixa,Mo., and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnie Sneed and Fay
Sowell Sneed.

There will be a graveside service at 2 P.M. Thursday, June 13,
2013 at Memorial Gardens.  Rev. Ray Sowell will officate.
