Joan M. Milligan
Laverne I. Ristig, 84 of Poplar Bluff, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011 at her
residence.              
Mrs. Ristig was born, May 15, 1926 in Poplar Bluff. She lived in Anchorage, Alaska
for 40 years before moving back to Poplar Bluff. Mrs. Ristig was a member of the
First Christian Church and loved raising her children.                                            
On November 30, 1946 she married Wayne Ristig.  He survives.                             
Other survivors iclude; three sons, David Ristig and Michael Ristig both of Orange
County, Ca. and Brett Ristig of Anchorage, Alaska; one brother, Eldon Palmer,
Shreveport, Mo.; two sisters, Wilma Burwell of Poplar Bluff and Wanda Clover of
Memphis, Tn.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Artie Mae Brewer Hillis, 89, died Tuesday, Jan.4, 2011 at Ratliff Care Center in
Cape Girardeau, MO. Mrs. Hillis, daughter of the late Richard (Dick) Brewer and
Mary (May) Waggoner Brewer was born Feb, 22, 1921.
On Jan. 1, 1937, she married Thomas Nelson Hillis at Cash, AR.  He preceded her
in death on June 23, 1990.  
Artie was a farmer's wife and homemaker as well as the mother of six children.  
She was familiar with hard work-picking a lot of cotton and canning a lot of fruits
and vegetables.   She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff,
Mo and a former member of Providence Baptist Church in Marmaduke, AR.
She was the oldest of five children and the only girl.  She is survived by three
brothers - Donald Brewer of Huntsville, AR, Leamon Brewer of Ash Flat, AR, and
Freman Brewer of Cash, AR.  John Richard (J.R.) Brewer preceded her in death.  
Surviving children include:  Violet (Harold) Condray of Ellsinore, MO, Opal (Tom)
Aden of Cape Giradeau, MO, Floyd (Jan) Hillis of Owensboro, KY, Henry Hillis of
Hawaii, Ruth (Jerry) Jenkins of Nashville, TN.
Twelve grandchildren include:  Randy (Lisa) Marshall, Sheila (Ritchie) Calvert,
Shannon (John) Poole of Poplar Bluff, MO, Anita Zimmerman of W. Palm Beach,
FL, Byron (Dana) Aden of Cape Girardeau, MO, Bruce Aden of Afghanistan, Amy
(Brian) Crafford of Paducah, KY, Michael Credille of Broseley, MO, Susan (Mel)
McCarty of Columbus, MS, Will (Kerri) Hillis of Mt. Juliet, TN, Emma Hillis of
Owensboro, KY.
Also included are eighteen great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother - JR, and a
daughter - Virgie (Mickey) Credille, and a granddaughter - Carla Credille Austin.

Aline Murphy, 70 longtime resident of the Poplar Bluff, died Wednesday 19, 2011 at
her residence.  
Mrs. Murphy was born March 25, 1940 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She was a
homemaker, and a member of Jehovah's Witness Church.  She enjoyed sewing,
quilting, embroidery, and cooking.  
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Murphy; mother, Maudie
Zalman; and father, Theodore Luttrull.
Survivors include one son, Michael Murphy of Poplar Bluff; two daughters, Sharon
Murphy and Cindy Gearhart both of Poplar Bluff; one brother Teddy Luttrull of
Poplar Bluff; and three grandchildren.
Aline Murphy
Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011. Mrs. Byrd,  the daughter of the late  Hattie Bradshaw and
Linda Kay Byrd, 72 Longtime resident of Poplar Bluff, died at her residence Ira
Johnson, was born October 2, 1939 in Pemiscot Co. Mo. On January 21, 1967 she
married Rev. Francis Byrd. He preceeds her in death.
Mrs. Byrd worked in the food servive indrustry. She attended the Southside
Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed camping, doing crafts, and reading.
Mrs. Byrd is survived by one daughter; Myrna Jill Byrd, three brothers; Jerry
Johnson, of Cruthersville, mo. ; Larry Johnson, of Doniphan, Mo. , Phillip Johnson,
of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo.;  four sisters, Deloris Roach,  and Mary Olcott both of
Paragould, Ark. , Shelia Hartenstein, of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo. and Betsey
Marshell of Poplar Bluff, Mo. She is preceeded in death by two brothers; Herbert
Johnson, and Charles Johnson, two sisters, Vohnell Johnson, and Myrna Gage.
Joan M. Milligan, 56, of the Poplar Bluff and Williamsville area, died Thursday, Jan.
13, 2011 at her residence.  
Ms. Milligan was born July 29, 1954 in Harvey, Ill. She was the General Manager
for the Poplar Bluff Pizza Hut.  She enjoyed her dogs and collecting arrowheads.  
She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Salamone; one brother, Michael
Salamone; and one son, Leon Keith Milligan.
Survivors include mother, Gloria Banse of Poplar Bluff; one son, Layron Milligan
and his girlfriend Gisela Marie Jones of Poplar Bluff; one sister Jackie Bailey and
husband Clinton of Poplar Bluff; one sister-in-law, Rockie Salamone of Poplar Bluff;
one niece, Nikki Salamone and two nephews, Joe Salamone and Mikey Bailey all of
Poplar Bluff.
Linda Kay Byrd
Maxine Bomer, 92, Longtime resident of Poplar Bluff, died at Poplar Bluff Regional
Medical Center Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011. Mrs. Bomer,  the daughter of the late  Reva
Lincoln and Claude Jacques, was born October 4, 1918 in Kennett, Mo. In 1952 she
married Dr. Ancil L. Bomer. He preceeds her in death.
Mrs. Bomer was a home-maker, and enjoyed tending to her rose garden.  She was a
member of the First Christian Church, and a charter memeber of the Monday Study
Club.
Mrs. Bomer is survived by two sons; John C. Stout of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and
Bob Stout Bomer of Myrtle, Missouri.  Three grandchildren and five great
grandchildren.
