Lorraine Colter 82, of Poplar Bluff passed away December 29, 2012 at a
member of the Third Baptist Church and the Tops Wednesday morning.
She enjoyed quilting, gardening and her family.
She was married to Leonard Colter October 31, 1949. He preceded her in
death on March 5, 1993.
Surviving are six daughters; Carol Keeney, Kathy Gibbs and husband
Terry all of Van Buren, Linda Faust and husband Ed of Clearwater, Fl.,
Karen Rodery and special friend Rick Yarbor of Poplar Bluff, Elaine
Lannom and husband Lanny of Jackson, and JoAnn Pierce and husband
Dennis of Ellsinore, Mo.; four sons, Dale Colter and wife Gail, Alan Colter,
David Colter, Gary Colter and wife Debra all of Poplar Bluff; one sister
Lois Crawford, one brother Leroy Godwin both of Lancaster Ca., twenty
seven grandchildren, forty one great-grand children, four great-great
grandchildren, and a special friend Cathy Alford.
She was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Frances Godwin, one
brother Buell Godwin of Troy, Mi., one daughter Imogene Clark; three
grandsons, Jimmie Dale Keeney, Brian Keeney, and Eric Rodery.
Visitation will be Monday at 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. The funeral will be
Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.
Ralph Mayes and Rev. Shane Mallard officiating. In lieu of flowers
memorials may be made to the Third Baptist Church, 802 North D Street,
Poplar Bluff, Mo. 63901.
Frances was born September 5, 1922 in Piedmont, Mo.
Frances was a longtime resident of Butler Co. She was of the Pentecostal
faith. She enjoyed shopping. She was a house wife and work as cashier
for many years at Dunn Hotel and Holiday Inn.
Surviving are one son; Bill R. Schearer and wife Nadine of Poplar Bluff,
one step-son; Jim Kutchback of Houston, Tx., one step-daughter, Joanne
LaBlante of Houston, Tx.; three nieces, Ruth Hampton of Malden, Mo.,
Shirley Clark of Poplar Bluff, Linda Cooke of Norwood, La.; and one
grandson, Chris Allen Schearer of Poplar Bluff.
Pansy L. Deason of Poplar Bluff, a retired state employee of the Division
of Family Services and the Division of Youth Services, was promoted to
be with our Lord on December 6, 2012. Mrs. Deason was born in
Madison, Il. on January 14, 1932, daughter of the late Reverend Roy & the
late Charity Thomas Teetor. On February 7, 1953 she married her best
earthly friend Donald Deason, who was promoted on June 9, 2011. Their
devoted loving son Robin D. Deason resides in Springfield, Mo. Other
survivors include Tom Simmering, husband of her late sister, Jessie, of
Atlanta Ga., and their sons Mark and wife Diane and family of Watkinsville
Ga., and Scott and wife Patty and family of Gulf Breeze, Fl. Also
surviving are cousins and Deason nieces and nephews whom she very

A brief grave-side gathering at Memorial Gardens Cemetery is planned to
occur Saturday December 8, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., officiated by her Pastor

Jackson, Jr. and Sheila Jackson. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing
on his computer.
He was married to Brandy Osborn Jackson. She survives.
Alson surviving are one son; Damion Leo Jackson of the home, two
brothers; Jessie Hunt of Tenn., Anthony Jackson of Poplar Bluff, three
sisters; Samantha Hunt of Tenn., Amanda Jackson of Poplar Bluff and
Aryssa Weaver of Calif.
Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. at Fitch-Hillis Funeral
Home Chapel, followed by the funeral service at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be
at Elder Cemetery in Campbell, Mo.
Billy Vinson, 69, died December 19, 2012 in Poplar Bluff. He was born
Bluff. He enjoyed playing golf, and watching wild life at his farm. He
was an Army veteran who served in Vietnam.
He was married to Janet Vinson. She survives.
Also surviving are one son Billy Joe Vinson and one daughter Angie
Lawson, both of Poplar bluff.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Leo E. Vinson and Mary Ogilvey
Visitation will be Friday at 12:00 P.M.at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home. The
funeral will follow at 1:30 P.M. at the Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be at Memorial Gardens.
