Wanna VanCleve, 85, died Aug. 6, 2012 at her home in Poplar Bluff, Mo.  She was
born in Malden, Mo. Feb.12, 1927.  Wanna was a longtime resident of Poplar Bluff
and a member of the First Baptist Church.  She was a founding charter member of
Temple Baptist where she was accomplished at playing the organ and piano and
then in later years at First Baptist Church.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed her music, reading, being with family and
friends, and her dog.    
She married John T. VanCleve May 23, 1953 in Malden, Mo.  He preceded her in
death Aug. 8, 1996.  Also preceding her, were her parents Wade and Lillie
Thornton, and one son; Wade VanCleve.
Surviving are one son; Tom VanCleve and wife Yvonne and one daughter; Patricia
Ann Sparks, all of Poplar Bluff, two brothers; Wilbur and wife Patty Thornton of
Poplar Bluff and William and wife Jean Thornton of Las Vegas, Nv.; and one
grandchild; Cassie Lee VanCleve of Poplar Bluff, who was her shining star.
Visitation will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 11:00
a.m. in the Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Steve Patterson will officiate.  In
lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Colon Cancer Foundation.
Wanna Lee VanCleve
was a member of the Mt. Zion Missouri Baptist Church.  She was a teacher at
Barnes Hospital as a Doctor of Psychiatry.  Sandra was a veteran of the United
Sandra K. Sparkman, 59, died Aug. 9, 2012 in Poplar Bluff, Mo.  She was born July
States Air Force.  She received the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with one Oak
Leaf Cluster, the Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon with one Oak Leaf Cluster
and the National Defense Service Medal.  She was a Registered Nurse.  She was a
volunteered at the V.A. Hospital, volunteer chaplin at the Poplar Bluff Regional
Medical Center, Vietnam Veterans Assoc., made Christmas shoe boxes for the
under priveledged, participated in the Relay for life, a member of the World
Laughter Tour, Laughter club at the V.A. and the nursing homes, volunteer for
B.E.S.T., Accupuncture Detox, March of Dimes, and took care of the Bulletin
Board at the V.A.  Also she was the leader of the Mt. Zion childrens church and a
sunday school teacher.  She loved taking care of her dogs.
Sandra is survived by two brothers; Elmer Sparkman and George Sparkman, both
of Poplar Bluff; and one sister Debra Fay Sparkman of McAllen, Tx.
Visitation will be Tuesday, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Fitch-Hillis Funeral
Home Chapel.  The funeral service will be at Mt. Zion Missouri Baptist Church
Wednesday at 10:00 am, with the Rev. Matthew Johnston officiating.  Burial will be
at the Mo. State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo. Memorials may be made to
the Disabled Veterans Fund.  
Sandra K. Sparkman
August 12, 2012, at poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.  Bertha was born July 2,
1925 to Charley and  Pearl Thomas Mitchell. Ms. Goodwin had been employeed at
the Floresheim Shoe factory. She was of the baptist faith. She enjoyed spending
time with her Children and grandchildren.
Ms. Goodwin is survived by two daughters; JoAnn Cates and Henrietta Smith both
Cates and wife Paula, Michael Cates and wife Terry, James Cates and wife Anita,
and one granddaughter, Angela Cates all of Poplar Bluff, 6 great grandchildren;
Jeremy, Forrest, River, Payton, Brileigh,and Jaden Cates, all of Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Ms. Goodwin was preceeded in death by her parents and one grandchild, Brian
Ms Goodwin will have a graveside service at 10 a.m. Tuesday Aug. 14,  at
Woodlawn Cemetery.
Bertha Goodwin
Bluff, Mo.  Mr. Welker was born in Poyner, Mo. August 25, 1919.  He was a
longtime resident of Poplar Bluff and a member of the First Christian Church.
Mr. Welker was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served during World War
II.  He received a Purple Heart, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Ribbon and 1
Bronze Star.
He had been an employee of the John J. Pershing V.A. Hospital as a nurse's
Mr. Welker is survived by two sons, Hirthel Welker of Tucamcari, New
Mexico, Thomas L. Welker of Checotah, Ok.; one daughter, H. Jean
McElwee of Kirkwood, Mo.; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and
one great-great-grandchild.
Tommy H. Welker
Wilburn  Oneal  Adams , 46, died August 20, 2012, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
He was born  September 30, 1965 in Sikeston , Missouri to Odell and Mary
Wagner Adams. He was a long time resident of Poplar Bluff. He was of the
Baptist faith. He was a hairdresser by trade.
He is survived by his mother Mary Adams, of  East Prairie, Missouri; one
brother , Steve Adams  of East Prairie, one sister; Karen Miller of Blythville,
Ark.., and  Jimmy White of Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Private service was held by family.
Wilburn Oneil Adams
Wanda Wilson Dunz, 76, died August 22, 2012 in Poplar Bluff, Mo.  She was
born Nov. 8, 1936 in Poplar Bluff and was a longtime resident of Poplar
Bluff.  Wanda attended Temple Baptist Church, and was a homemaker.  She
enjoyed making stained glass.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Lennis W. and Goldie M.
Wilson.  Also preceding her were three husbands, Carl Diamond, who died
Dec. 6, 1990., Ed Padgett who died May 30, 2000, and John Dunz, who died
June 23, 2012.; and one brother Lennis Wilson.
Surviving are two daughters, Leslie Karen Braden of Arnold, Mo., Carla
Juanita Delaloye of DeSota, Mo.; one brother, Ralph Wilson of Poplar
Bluff.;two sisters Annis Walls of Poplar Bluff, Helen Felts of Harviell, Mo.;
four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Visitation will be 9:00 am to 11:00 am Saturday with the furneral service to
follow at 11:00 at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Steve Patterson
will officiate.  Burial will be at Memorial Gardens.
